Motorcycle-derived Yamaha engine to power Toyota’s IQ
A version of Toyota’s iQ concept, originally proven in Frankfurt, is mythical to embark on creation sometime following year and according to a couple of methods mentioned by Automotive News, electricity serves to appear courtesy of Yamaha. The two Japanese companies are already collaborating on a new 1.0-liter engine rooted on one of Yamaha’s motorcycle powerplants, while output and electricity arena rates own yet to be disclosed.
Toyota is guessed to generate virtually 100,000 units, in Europe attaining something like 80,000 vehicles when sells start in 2009. Although there is no word on U.S. distribution, the iQ-inspired micro-car may foresee its way to emerging markets in India and China at which low-cost transportation is going to get a hot business.
